The recent months have presented us with many new challenges and are forcing us to rethink so much of our lives and our routines. One of the essential parts of our life that we must find a way to continue to engage in is our faith. We are convinced that this gift of faith needs to be rediscovered at every age and nourished throughout our lives. Amid the uncertainties of this world the best gift we can offer our children is faith.
The present circumstances, requiring social distance, etc., will make the traditional Sunday School model not possible this year. As much as this is a loss to be mourned, we also must ask ourselves, how is God at work in all this? And how is this an opportunity to explore new ways to enrich our faith and grow? What blessings await us in a new model?
We believe that this is a great opportunity for us tostrengthen our families as households of faith, hopefully finding in this lived experience of faith a safe harbor amid troubled times, solace for our souls, and peace for our anxieties.
We are calling our Faith Formation Initiative: Growing in Faith Together (G.I.F.T.) which reminds us that faith is a gift in which we must always continue to grow, and that we do this together as a household and as a community, even in times of social distancing.
We ask you to register as soon as possible. This year we need to have registrations in as early as possible because numbers and space will have a big impact on our planning. Once everyone has registered we will be able to create grouping for our gatherings and create a personalized package of resources and dates for each family.
